Network admin VS Oracle DBA

Oracle DBA here.  It's a higher level thing, you really need some years in the environment to be any better than some random guy in India.  There are many more network admin jobs and the roles are more defined.  Much more reasonable to shoot for from desktop support.  And when the Oracle DBA needs some wiresharking, he'll come to you.
